Can I add background image to search/search results page?

When I click the Search icon, the screen I get is just a dark gray with lighter gray lettering. When I get search results back, the page headline area is just dark gray. I’d like to be able to add an image behind both of those – doesn’t matter if it’s the same image or if I can add one to each page, I’d just like to make it look prettier.
