Cannot edit text/images in Visual Composer

Earlier today I updated my theme & plugin (I’m also running the latest version of WP) and, while that fixed many issues I was having, I now cannot edit text blocks, images, headlines, etc. within the Visual Composer Backend Editor.

When I click “edit” on an item, it seems as though it is only giving me the ability to change aspects of the row or column is in, rather than the item itself.
