How to remove Taglines area from Blog Overview and change the headlines color

I have a few questions from https://www.iamtaymore.com/655-2/

1. How do I remove some of the “white” space just above the cartoon head and text? The “white space” being the excess maroon space.

2. Is there a way to make the blog post title on the main blog page not connected to the single page blog post. I ask because I want to use different background colors.
