Disable drop-down for main menu

Hi,

Is it possible to hide or disable the drop-down for the main menu?

To explain why I ask this: I use a side menu to make sure users can navigate the site, but I need to add the same pages to the main-menu to make sure the right item in the main-menu has an active-state when pages are visited through the side-menu. To do so I need to add all these pages to the item in the main menu, but since all these items are visible in the side menu, I don’t want to show the drop-down for the main-menu item.
