Changing Portfolio button Background Larger

On the Portfolio button Backgrounds that fill up over and image. Is there a way to change how much of the color area will fill up over the image when you scroll over it. I would like the whole image to be covered with the color of choice. Right now it’s only partially cover. It seems to be determined by how much text is put in on how much color covers the image on the roll over. Let me know.
