Extend visual composer

    How can I extend visual composer functionality accordling to the wpbackery documentation?
    I need to use vc_map() function to map a custom shortcode.
    I cannot use visual shortcode mapper because I need of attach_image param type.
    I tried to use vc_map() function in functions.php theme file but it doesn’t work.
    Can you help me?
